The 16th annual Special Operations Adventure Race will be held on Saturday, June 10th in Highlands, North Carolina.
The event will offer 6 hour and 12 hour races, with male, female, and coed categories in each race. For the first time ever, in 2017 our race is a Regional Qualifier for the USARA National Championships. Winners of the male, female, and coed divisions in the 12 hour race will qualify to compete in the 2017 USARA National Championships, as well as winning jackets. The winning coed team will also receive a voucher for $400 towards its registration for the national championship event.
Pre-race check-in will take place at the Highlands Civic Center from 2-6 on Friday, June 9th, 2017. The mandatory pre-race briefing will take place at from 7-8PM at the same location.
Also on Friday, June 9th, 2017 from 5-7 PM there will be a spaghetti dinner benefiting the Special Operations Warrior Foundation at the Highlands Civic Center.
As of 3/15/17 we are only accepting registration for the 12 hour race. On 4/15/17 we will open registration for the 6 hour race as well. Our website is currently under construction. We expect for it to be completed with updated rules, FAQs, gear lists, and directions no later than 3/31/17. Over the past 16 years SOAR of Western North Carolina has raised and donated over $550,000 for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. As always, 100% of the proceeds from the 2017 race will benefit SOWF.
